He urged her onto the bench. “Now, sit there, it’s my turn.”

“You haven’t asked a question.” She wagged her finger.

“And that will wait until we’re both satisfied and tired.” He knelt and parted her thighs.

He slipped his palms up her thighs. Her muscles hardened at the slow glide. He leaned close and scraped his teeth over her thigh. Hot breath puffed across her skin. A tingle coursed through her. He gripped her hips and urged her to the edge of the bench. She clutched the cushion.

He licked the lips of her pussy. She trembled and her thighs tensed. He lapped at her. His tongue struck her clit again and again. She moaned. Flaring heat pulsed through her. Fuck, he’d drive her insane.

She leaned back against the soft back of the bench seat. He lashed the hood. Her thighs tensed, but his wide shoulders kept her spread for him. A desperate hunger echoed through her.

“Don’t play. I want you.” She gripped his shoulder.

“I don’t think you want me enough.” He turned his head and nipped her thigh.

“You’ll send me over.” She shook her head. The hollow ache echoed through her.

“Not yet.” He turned back to her pussy.

He lapped at her. He swept his tongue from her entrance up to her clit before circling the hard nub. She lifted into his touch. The spiraling feelings coiled. Her breath caught, and she tugged at him. He had to move now. So close.

“Come to me.” She dug her nails into his shoulders.

“No, there’s a pretty pink bit here that needs my attention.” He shook his head and lashed her clit.

Pressure swelled within her. She shook her head and tugged at his hair. Fucking hell, not without him. He closed his lips over the sensitive bundle. He sucked as he pushed two fingers into her. She gasped and wriggled. He pulled his fingers out and sank them deep again. Her body tensed, and pleasure swept over her. The fire seared and consumed.

As the intensity slowly faded, she drew in slow breaths. Fuck. Damn, he’d done it. She scowled at him.

“Damn it, Micah, I wanted you, not your damn fingers and tongue.” Though it felt great, it wasn’t what she needed.

“And you’ll get more this time, but I love seeing the pleasure take you.” Micah nuzzled her thigh before swiping his tongue over the lips again. “Your pleasure tastes delicious, honeybear.”

“Micah, you’re driving me crazy.” She stroked her fingers over his shoulder.

“Not yet.” He laughed and plunged his fingers into her.

Her inner muscles clenched around the two fingers, but it wasn’t nearly enough. She rocked her hips. Sharp arcs shot through her. The tension slowly built.

He circled her clit before the tip struck the bundle of nerves again and again. Her nipples tightened. Fuck, if only he’d straighten and give them some attention.

“Let me hear your moans before I take you.” He slid his fingers into her.

She tugged at his hair. “You heard plenty of moans as I came. I want you.”

“And you’ll want more before I slide into you.” He curled his fingers inside her.

She shuddered. He lapped her clit. Each strike sent a jolt straight through her. A moan rolled from her. He sucked at her clit. A pulsing hunger blazed through her. She clutched at his shoulders.

He rose to his feet and sat down on the bench. He lifted her. She straddled him and sank onto his cock. His length slowly pushed into her, filling and stretching her. He laced his fingers with hers.

“Ride me.” He nibbled on her neck.

Fuck, yes. She rose and slowly lowered down on him. Her heart pounded in her chest. Warmth curled through her. She pulled at her hands. Just a little touching. He held her hands.

“Micah, I want to touch.” She rose on him before slowly lowering.

  “No.” He shook his head.

Desperation flared through her. Her gums burned. She rocked down onto him. Tension coiled through her body. She strained against his hold, and frustration raged through her. He guided them behind her and clasped them in one hand as he urged her hips up with the other.

A sharp pang shot through her, and the hunger increased. She ground down onto him. Her clit rubbed against his pelvis, and a driving need pulsed through her.

“I need you.” She rose once again, the ache heightening almost to sharp pain.

“You have me.” He urged her down again.

“I need to touch you and run my hands over my mate.” She leaned forward and kissed his shoulder, trailing her lips up his neck.

“I like it this way.” He stroked his thumb over her wrist.

She growled. Damned male. He was hers as much as she was his. She rose on him again and rocked down again. An urgency throbbed in her along with the flaring desire.

As her body tightened, release a breath away, she leaned down and bit, her teeth sinking into his shoulder. He groaned and pulled her down on him, circling her hips against his. Her breath caught and she came. Fire flooded through her and she shook. He released her wrists and pulled her close. She arched, pressing down onto him. He guided her hips up and down and minutes later shouted his pleasure.

He wrapped his around her, and he nuzzled her cheek. “Damn, that was good, and I love that you marked me.”

“After you drove me crazy, you’re lucky that my bear was happy with a simple marking as proof that you’re hers, even if you are a little controlling.” She feathered kisses over his cheek.

  “You loved it.” He laughed.

“I did, but I’ll love doing the same to you, too. We just have to get through this trouble following you guys, and we can spend weeks making love and exploring each other.” She patted his shoulder.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

Hopefully, today would be the end of the search.

Gable looked over at Maddox. “You don’t have to come with me. I’ll just be viewing some office spaces.”

“For the hundredth time, it’s no problem, and Dixie will feel better if we’re not alone whenever possible. Since I’m off and she’s not, I don’t mind going with you.” Maddox waved his hand.

“Yes, I know that you would rather be with her. To tell the truth, I would be, too.” Gable smiled. Such a sweet bundle of sexy. Every moment with her was precious.

“So these are the offerings that seemed most promising?” Maddox glanced over and raised a brow.

“Yes, I’ll have to check the areas out, but the pictures appeared good and the size seems like it would be enough. I checked the layouts. They seem okay, but it’s not something I’ll know until I actually walk through it.”

“Yeah, I know. I had the same issue with finding my shop. On one site the realtor sent pictures of, it looked good, but when I saw it, the photos hadn’t shown cracks in the flooring, plumbing that was questionable at best, and electrical issues so bad I could hear the snap of electricity.”

“That’s why everything’s up in the air. Even my walk-through won’t count if an inspection reveals big issues. If I wanted to have to do a lot of work right off the start, I’d build a fucking building.” Gable shook his head. He really didn’t want to go through the crap involved in building an office. There was zoning, contractors, and the sheer time involved. It would delay getting his business up and running.

“Well, hopefully, we can find you a good office building today. I know some of your people are dying to come down here and help you start a branch here.” Maddox smiled. “This first one seems a little on the industrial side.”

Gable frowned at the buildings as they drove by. Yes, it did. This wasn’t the type of location for his business. Yes, there were a few other office buildings around, but not enough. And those buildings housed construction or industrial-type companies.

“This will probably be a pass, but we’ll do the walk-through anyway. I want to see what type of condition this place is in. If this one has obvious flaws and the rest do, too, I’ll start searching for another commercial real estate agent tomorrow. I told him
I wanted move-in ready or as close as I could get.” Gable flexed his fingers.

“I doubt the man deliberately intends to piss you off.” Maddox waved. “There’s the building. To the right.”

Gable pulled into the parking lot next to a small black car, probably the realtor’s vehicle. He’d said he’d meet them there, and they were a little late.

Gable climbed out of the car. Yeah, not the best location for an accountant’s office. The building did look big enough though.

“I’d have to give you a caution on this location already. Look at that hole up there by the sidewalk along the building. Water will run beneath it and maybe the building, as well. Neither is a good sign.” Maddox pointed to a hole at the right end of the building.

“Well, I hadn’t noticed that yet, but I did notice the big patch jobs on the lot. I wonder how long it would be before it’s all washed out and full of car-swallowing potholes.” Gable walked toward the door.

“Probably six months, if that.” Maddox lifted a shoulder. “We’ll find an office for you.”

“Yeah, but not with this realtor if this is any example of the offerings today.” Gable balled his fist. “Where is he?”

“I don’t know. I thought the car was his, but there’s no one around. He hasn’t called to say he’d be late.” Maddox frowned. “If this doesn’t pan out today, we’ll give my realtor a call tonight. Maybe he’ll have better options for you. Why don’t we look around the back? Just to give this thing a fair try.”

“Yeah, sure, let’s walk around back. If he’s not here by the time we come back to the front, I’ll give him a call. The man is on my nerves.” Gable took a deep breath.

They strolled around the back of the building. Nothing out of the ordinary for this area. Heavy machinery rumbled in the afternoon air, and somewhere nearby the beep-beep of the backup alarm of some type of truck or loader rang through the air. Definitely the wrong type of area.

He strolled back around to the front. Still no sign of the damn realtor. Gable shook his head. He pulled out his phone and dialed.

“Gable, watch out!” Maddox looked beyond him.

Gable spun. A hand flew at his face. He flinched back, but knuckles slammed into the side of his jaw. Pain sliced over his cheek, and light flashed in front of his eyes. He stumbled and raised his arms to block another blow.

A surge of energy bolted through him. He clenched his fist and swung. The man jerked back. Gable’s fist slashed past his cheek. Fucking hell. This bastard wouldn’t get away with bum-rushing him.

The man’s fist drove into Gable’s ribs. A sharp ache lanced up his side. Gable grunted. He rammed his hand into the man’s gut. Air burst from the man. Good, hopefully, it hurt.

A loud smack rang through the air. What the hell?

Gable glanced over his shoulder. Maddox fought with another man. Damn it. If Maddox was fighting, he couldn’t call the police. His stomach knotted.

Gable turned back to the man in front of him. A fist swung at him. He raised his arm and blocked the blow. Son of a bitch, this man didn’t give up.

Gable punched, catching the man on his chin. The attacker reeled back, but lunged forward. Gable caught him and swung him around.

Another man ran at him. The second attacker smacked into him. Gable stumbled and fell. He crashed into the ground. The man’s weight dropped onto him. Gable’s breath exploded from his chest.

Hard fists drove into Gable’s ribs. Pain slashed with each blow. Gable shoved the man off him and rolled away. He struggled to a knee as pain bit into him with each move. Have to get on my feet.

A boot jammed into his chest. Gable tumbled to the side. He caught himself on one hand and lunged to his feet. He couldn’t let them trap him on the ground. Otherwise, they’d beat him until he was unconscious or dead.

A hand bashed into his head. He stumbled. Pain and light flashed through his skull. His vision spun. Oh, fuck, this wasn’t good.

He shook his head. The blurry blob in front of him tilted and swayed. His stomach lurched. He shoved the man away. A ringing buzzed through his head. He bunched his fists and drew in a deep breath. A pang shot through his ribs.

The man rushed back at him. Gable drove his fist into the man’s gut. Something struck the back of his head. Rays of light slashed through his vision. A moment later, a roar resounded. Darkness crept around the edges of Gable’s vision, but the man in front of him turned and ran.

  * * * *

Dixie rushed down the hallway. Son of a bitch. Those assholes would pay. She’d rip the hide right off them. How dare they wait until she was off work to notify her of the attack? Someone would feel her wrath. It might be all three someones if Micah had kept this from her, too.

Her shoes padded over blue-and-white tiles on the hallway. The blue pattern among the white barely registered. She glanced at the numbers on the door. 355. No, they were a little farther down in 371.

She clenched her fists. It didn’t bode well that they were in a damn room instead of the ER. Someone was hurt enough to be admitted. What the fuck had happened, and why hadn’t they called her as soon as they arrived?

She stopped outside of the door and took a deep breath. Exhale and calm down. Don’t go in there raging. One of them is hurt, and ranting won’t help.

She released her breath and took in another. A little calmer. She pushed open the door and walked into the room. Micah sat in a chair to the side of the bed. Maddox stood beside it. His shirt was ripped, and his arm had a bandage on it. Gable lay in the bed, his eyes closed.

“What the hell happened?” She hurried over to the bed.

“We were attacked when we went to the first of Gable’s possible office complexes.” Maddox walked over to her and hugged her.

“What happened to Gable? How long has he been unconscious?” She hugged him back and stepped over to the bed.

“They gave him some pain meds. He’s sleeping right now. Not unconscious.” Micah rose from his chair.

“Doesn’t tell me what happened to Gable.” She crossed her arms over her chest and stared at him. “How long have you been here?”

“I was called down when they came into the ER.” Micah came around the bed.

“I don’t think that the people behind the attack expected two of us. There were three men, but two of them attacked Gable. These men knew how to fight. I finally took mine down and turned to help Gable as the second man hit him from behind. I roared, and those two bastards ran for the hills.” Maddox put a hand on her shoulder. “He’ll be all right. They just wanted to keep him for the night.”

“But he’s sedated, and I can’t talk to him. And you two didn’t call me when you got to the damn ER.” She spun on her heel and narrowed her eyes on him. “Why didn’t you contact me? They would have let me come down to you. Our mating is relatively new.”

“I asked them not to. I heard the nursing coordinator talking about a shortage of nurses. If you’d taken off even for an hour, they would have had you doing another shift tonight.” Micah shook his head. “I knew you’d be pissed, but after the attack on Maddox and Gable, I’d rather you go home at the normal time with Maddox, especially since I’ll be up here for a while longer.”

“What? Is something wrong with Gable?” She spun to stare at Gable.

“He’s asleep, under the effects of the pain reliever. Yes, he had a mild concussion, but the reason they’re keeping him is the broken ribs and punctured lung. They did a CT, just to be sure since he was knocked out, but there are no bleeds. He’ll be out of commission for a little while.” Micah curved his arm around her. “Yes, they’ll watch him for any type of worsening condition in association with the head trauma, but that’s not why he’s here.”

She clasped her hands together. “I am pissed, but why will you be here a little while longer?”

“One of my patients is coming in to the ER, but I still have to see a couple of my patients. They came in in the middle of my rounds.” Micah shrugged his shoulders. “It will
probably be a couple of hours before I get there.”

“Damn, but Gable is all right?” She bit her lip.

“Yes, before he went to sleep, he bitched at us about having to stay here and being sidelined because of his ribs. He griped because he knows it’s going to be days to a week or more before you’ll have sex with him again.” Micah wagged his eyebrows.

“And believe me, you’ll hear the whining and coaxing a few days after he gets home that he’s fine.” Maddox shook his head. “He never wants to follow the doctor’s orders.”

“What about you? You were in the fight, too. You say you’re all right, but didn’t you get hit?” She turned and smoothed her hands over his chest.

“I did get hit. I have some bruises, but overall I’m fine. You can check me out when we get home.” Maddox put one of his hands over hers. “Nothing even serious enough to warrant treatment. I just had a little difficulty putting the fucker down. He was fast and could take a punch.”

“Gable won’t wake up for a while. I’ll check on him again before I come home.” Micah rubbed her back.

She took a deep breath. Not exactly subtle. She stepped over to Gable and leaned down. Damn, this wasn’t easy.

She brushed her lips over his forehead. Bruises colored his cheeks. A cut split his lip, and one of his eyes was blackened. Damn, if she could get her hands on those bastards who did this to him, she’d rip them apart.

“I’ll be back, Gable.” She ran her hand over his shoulder. “I want to talk to him if he’s awake when you come back here.”

“I’ll make sure he calls you if he’s awake when I stop in later.” Micah nodded.

“Ready to go?” Maddox rubbed her back.

“I guess. I’m not happy, and I’m feeling a little unsettled.” She rubbed her hands down her thighs. Her bear stirred restlessly inside her.

“I know you’re not happy, and I don’t expect you to be thrilled about it.” Maddox leaned down and pressed a kiss to her cheek.

Not thrilled. What if something happened Gable? No, Micah wasn’t lying. The sincerity flowed off him when Micah said Gable would be all right, but damn it, leaving him sucked. Not after someone attacked him, and now he couldn’t even talk to her.
